Who We Are

Fontashia

Owner & Life Coach

Fontashia has been considered the “Love Ambassador” by many and her motto is, “Mind, Body, Love & Connection.”  She believes LOVE is at the center of all that we do and who we are as HUMANS.  She considers herself a lifelong learner and always finds ways to build and grow.  She is also the Founder of FACTS:  Financial Awareness, Counseling & Teaching Services, a North Carolina nonprofit organization that is committed to serving underserved communities by offering financial literacy and mindfulness programs, meeting individuals where they are in their financial and mental fitness journey. She is a graduate of the Mindful Schools Teacher Certification Program, MBSR certified, a Somatic Practitioner, a Financial Literacy Coach, a Business Educator, and above all a woman of Faith.  Fontashia enjoys sharing her experiences, while empowering others in the present moment.

She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Regent University and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Norfolk State University. Additionally, she is a licensed teacher in North Carolina. Transitioning from a decade-long career in banking and management, Fontashia pursued her calling, amassing over a decade of experience in K-12 education, Title 1 public schools, and alternative education settings. She spearheaded mindfulness and financial literacy initiatives for both students and parents, while also providing professional development services for a diverse array of organizations, including schools, nonprofits, and community partners.

Fontashia has served in various roles as an educator to include–Business Education Teacher, Career Development Coordinator, Parent Facilitator, and Restorative Justice Teacher.  She is also a Co-Creator for a BIPOC mindfulness community group, “Mindfulness with People of Color" and a Creator in a group of mindfulness practitioners and facilitators called “Collectively Mindful”.  This group was created after the closure of Mindful Schools, an international mindfulness organization supporting in integrating mindfulness into school communities, where she served as a program facilitator and diversity, equity and inclusion lead.

Fontashia has been practicing mindfulness for many years and believes that it has changed her perspective on life--not only does it allow her to be fully present for her four boys (and yorkie), it has also transformed her mindset to welcome abundance, practice self-love, and be grateful for all that life has to offer.  She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, listening to music, and dancing.

In this group meeting we discuss ways and areas where mental toughness has gone too far and then explore self-care tips for being more mentally fit so that  we can choose stronger thoughts. We follow shared guidelines while  establishing a brave space to share personal experiences of courage, strength,  and hope. The main focus is codependency and all are welcome.
